Musculoskeletal Imaging

Overview

Musculoskeletal Imaging is a sub-specialized field of radiology dealing specifically with imaging and therapy for diseases of the bones, joints, and muscles. Musculoskeletal radiologists undergo additional training in an accredited fellowship, and are familiar with diseases often seen by the referring orthopedist or rheumatologist. These include trauma, fractures, joint injury, arthritis, infection and tumors. Annapolis Radiology Associates includes four fellowship trained Musculoskeletal Radiologists dedicated to providing the highest quality image interpretation, as well as interventional procedures including joint injection/aspiration, arthrography, bone/muscle biopsy, and ablation. Imaging studies are performed at the Anne Arundel Medical Center as well as at outpatient facilities including the Sajak Pavilion, AAD Bowie, AAD Odenton, and AAD Kent Island. Facilities include 3 Tesla, 1.5 Tesla, and 0.35 Tesla MRI systems, multislice CT, CT fluoroscopy, and biplane interventional radiology suites.
